Listening to silence

My wife and I are off for a few days at a spa tomorrow so Lady goes to my wife's parents for a few days. She'll be well looked after, too well looked after, but she won't have a walk so we headed off this morning for an extra long ramble through the forest. Now colder with snow falling gently, the forest was so quiet when I stopped to listen. In this silence you can hear your soul...

  1. I hope both you and your wife enjoy your break, I expect Lady will enjoy herself too, it rather sounds as though she might get spoiled while you're away:) I'm sure she'll be looking forward to your return though and more long, quiet walks in the forest.

  2. I can feel the stillness and hear the silence, Tramp ... and Lady, you be good!

  3. HI TRAMP-

Oh how wonderful - I know well the sounds of Winter silence and its glory. Have a relaxing time at the spa with your wife. And how nice that Lady will be with Grandma and Grandpa :-)
    Love Gail

  4. Forests are so good for the soul. I hope you ahve a lovely break. Julie

  5. Enjoy your break.
A visit to a spa will not supply you with the silence you found in the forest so I hope you had your fill of it to withstand the hustle and bustle.

  6. Rowan
It's a cast iron guarantee that she will be spoiled and she knows it.
When people start packing in this house she prepares herself for it.
Have a good time on your forthcoming trip.

I'm not sure if I was included on the instruction to be good but as ever I will be trying (!)
Although I haven't written much lately, I have been following your posts.
    Good luck.

Thanks. Both my wife and I need the break, she has taken on a lot of work in the village since getting elected as Deputy Mayor in the autumn. I need to break out of a quiet spell.
I hope your problems with the melting snow get sorted out.
    My very best wishes.

Nice to hear from you. It's wonderful that I have contact with people who obviously understand something of what I try to express. Take care.

The spa we are going to is not one of the huge bustling West Bohemian affairs but a large village just north of here (Msen). While it won't be silent, we hope to find the peace to reconnect with each other.
This morning is -10C so it will be for brisk walks rather than leisurely strolls, I think.
    Have a good week.

  7. I hope that you're enjoying the Spa. Thats a lovely pic, I could almost hear the silence
